29th of October in Turkey

Hi friends,

Today is 29th of October and it is a special day for our nation. Today, we celebrate the 85th year of the foundation of Turkish Republic. In 1923, October 29th, Turkish Grand National Assembly declared Turkey to be a republic so we can say that 29th of October is the birthday of Turkish Republic. 85 years ago, Turkish nation fought for its independence under the leadership of Ataturk who is the founder of Turkish Republic and first president. After the victory, Turkey became a repulic following the dissolution of Ottoman Empire. Ataturk believed that there were many things to do to modernize the country and he introduced many reforms in country's political, social and economic life that aimed to raise our country to the highest standarts of civilization and prosperity. Thus, Turkey's modernization process has started.

He is Ataturk, our great leader. He is the founder of Turkish Republic and the first president.
