We have a kind of activity that takes place in December. During that week, we bring some food and drinks to our classes and eat them together. Its aim is to encourage to consume domestic products and develop conciousness about it. After the Turkish Independence War, as a country newly come out of a war, our country was poor so it was important to produce and consume domestic products to be self-sufficient and economically independent country. In 1929, it was decided to be a week to help to develop this consciousness.

Some activities in our school-Turkey
These are the photos in our maths class. We were learning division by using leaves. Before the lesson, our teacher told us to bring some leaves to the classroom. We counted them and took 15 of them. One of us acted as a tree, three of us as giraffes and we were 15 leaves in the branches of the tree. Then, 3 giraffes wanted to share the fifteen leaves equally. At the end we found out that each giraffe ate five leaves to share them equally. This was the division. We won't forget that enjoyable maths lesson.
