ROMANIA - Class 6C-Vlad Tepes( the Impaler)

Hello! We are Raluca, Lori, Andreea, Vlad and Mihai and we want to share with you some facts and impressions from a project we worked on in our History and English classes. We presented some facts about Vlad Tepes, who was also known as the Impaler, because he used to punish the Turks because they wanted to conquer the country he ruled and destroy the villages and kill the local people.

Vlad the Impaler was a great king, but at the same time people thought he was too cruel and savage, and feared him. Legends say that he used to shed blood because he liked it and many of his enemies called him Vlad Dracul or Dracula, in an association between him and the devil.

However, he did great things in The Romanian County where he ruled between 1448; 1456-1462; 1476. His fight to defend the Romanian County prevented turning this into a Turkish province.

We think he was a great Romanian king and the legends that make him famous worldwide are not completely true.
