Our pupils begin school when they are 3 and finish when they are 11. As we are a little school, we've got many classes with 2 grades.

Usually, pupils begin to learn english when they are 8 years old (grade: CE2) but this year CP's classes (6 years old) will begin too.

All our school is involved in the project, the 3 to 7 years old pupils will prepare the "cutural bag" after our holidays. There will be 3 classes involved in the videomeeting (8 to 11 years old) with their teachers and the english teacher.

Each week, one classe will give you some news about us.

Colégio do Sardão, Portugal

We are a private religious school in Vila Nova de Gaia, that stays in the north of Portugal. Our school was founded in 1879 by the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Paula Frassinetti Dorothy, a religious order whose particular areas of concern in ministry are the poor, women, children and obviously the education. Saint Paula Frassinetti the foundress of the order, began her religious work by joining her brother, who was a priest, in teaching and caring for the less fortunate in Quinto, Italy. Soon other women joined her and in 1835, she created the religious order.
Nowadays in Colégio do Sardão we have 10 classes from the primary and 5 foundation stage classes. In this project there will be working 2 classes from the 4th grade, whose responsible teachers are Liliana Freitas , Sandra Fernandes and Paulo Silva (the English teacher).

GHEORGHE TITEICA SCHOOL, ROMANIA

13,Flamanda Street…

It is here that for more than 35 years we have been building a column that praises the past, treasures the present and looks at the future.

Our school, having the name of the famous mathematician Gheorghe Titeica, has always been an emblem of the Constantza educational system.

Nowadays we are suggesting a new and modern type of education according to a profound reformation of teaching as well as to our efforts of European Integration. We are working in refurbished classrooms, a modern computer lab, a biology lab, a chemistry lab and a school library. We also have a gym, a handball ground and a football ground.
Our children begin school when they are six or seven and finish when they are fourteen, so, we have eight grades. At each grade we have four or five classes. From the first grade to the fourth grade(the primary cycle), the children have fewer subjects, which are taught by only one teacher (except the foreign language, religion and physical education teachers) and from the fifth grade to the eight grade(the secondary cycle) they have a different teacher for each subject.
