France - Jeu des Dominos
- 28 dominos
- 2 up to 4 players
- with 2 players, 7 dominos for each player.
- with 3 or 4 players, 6 dominos for each player.
The player who has the « double 6 » starts.
The dominos must be put in a line one after the other but the side matched with the domino on the table must have the same number of points.
The doubles are perpendicularly placed.
Each player keep his dominos hidden from the others’ sight.
When a player doesn’t have a good domino to put on the table, he « sulks ». It means he leaves his turn.
The player who has no domino left wins. If nobody can put all their dominoes on the table, the game is blocked, then the one with the lowest sum wins.Dominos to print on a thick paper

Ţ.O.M.A.P.A.N.T. - ROMANIA
The name of this game comes from the initials of all the sections, but its meaning is lost in translation. Each letter means a category: T = ţară = country
O = oraş = city
M = munte = mountain
A = apă = water (meaning rivers, lakes, seas, oceans)
P = plantă = plant
A = animal = animal
N = nume = name
T = total = total
So, in English, the name of the game would be: CCMWPANT. It doesn’t make sense, so we decided to keep the name in Romanian. Of course you can play this game in your own languages, so the name can change also.
To play this game you need:
- unlimited number of players
- sheets of paper (one for each player)
- pens or pencils
You draw tables with 8 columns on the sheets of paper and in each column you write the name of a category. You can make as many rows as you want (depends on how many games you want to play.)
When you start playing the game you have to choose a letter. So, one of the players starts saying the alphabet silently and another one stops him/her. The last letter said by the player is the letter that has to be used to find words for all the sections, as in the example I gave you.
The first one who finishes all the sections says “stop” and the game finishes. You start counting the points like this:
- if you didn’t write anything – 0 points
- 10 points for each column you filled in
- 5 points – if you have the same word as another player
So, if you filled in all the columns and you don’t have words in common with other players, the total should be 70 points.
Then, you start another game, by saying the alphabet again.
The winner is the player who has the most points.
Note: when children play this game, they draw the papers by hand, they don’t do it at the computer. They just draw with a pencil 7 vertical lines and a horizontal one and then write the names of the sections.

Game of the rooster - Portugal
In Portugal it is known as” The game of the old guy and the old lady".
Rules
• The board consists of three rows and three columns.
• Two players have to choose a symbol, usually a circle or a X.
• The players one at the time play with the chosen symbol on a gap that is empty.
• The objective is to achieve three circles or three Xs on a line, either horizontally, vertically or diagonally, and if it is possible, to prevent the opponent to win on the next move. When a player wins, it is normal to delete the three symbols.
The perfect play
If two players always play their best, the game always ends in tie. The logic of the game is very simple, so it is not difficult to finish or memorize all possibilities to make the best move - although the total number of possibilities is very large, most of them is equal, and that the rules are simple. Therefore, it is very common that the game is a draw. A player can easily play a great game following the rules, in order of priority:
In general, the best is to play in the middle and then on the sides because there is a bigger opportunity to block or to win.
1. To Win: If you have two pieces in a row, get the third.
2. To block: If the opponent has two pieces in line, get the third to block it.
3. Triangle: Create an opportunity where you can win in two ways.
4. Block the opponent's Triangle.

Traditional English game - Nine Men's Morris
This is a very old English board game dating back to Tudor times.
Nine Men's Morris
You Will Need:
The nine men's morris game board
9 counters of one colour and 9 of another colour
How To Start:
A game for 2 players or 2 teams.
Decide who will start, then take turns to place one counter at a time on one of the 24 dots on the board.
If you get a horizontal or vertical line of 3, this is called a 'mill'.
You can take away one of your opposing teams counters if you get a mill.
Keep playing until all your 9 counters are gone (so now all 9 counters from both sides are on the board)

How To Play:
Now you can take turns to move your counters along the lines one space.
If you make a mill continue to remove counters that are not in a mill.
(You can move in and out of mills)

The Game Ends When:
You or your opponents have 2 counters left and you cannot make any more mills.
We hope you enjoy playing this game - We are sending the boards and counters to you next week.

"EL CINQUILLO", Spanish board game
CINQUILLO
In this game, you need to have special Spanish game cards or you can use any kind of normal game cards. Spanish cards have four suits: “bastos, oros, espadas, copas” (clubs, gold, spade , glass). It suit has 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, jack, horse, king.
The game can be played with four to six players. Today, five students, that is five players, play the game.

Firstly, after shuffle, the cards are delivered to the players one by one. Each player has the same number of cards. So, if you have five players, each player gets eight cards.
The player next to the one who has delivered the cards is the first one to play.
The player next to the one who has delivered the cards is the first one to play.
The first player is supposed to put a “5” card of any kind on the table, of course, if he has one. If no, he just says “pass” and it's the next one's turn, who is expected to come up with a “5” again.
When there is a “5” on the table, the next player has to put a “4” or a “6” of the same suit or a “5” of another suit of cards.
A player cannot pass if he has a corresponding card for any of the sets on the table. That is, no lies!

A player cannot pass if he has a corresponding card for any of the sets on the table. That is, no lies!

The aim of the game, which is clear till now, is to finish all of your cards before all other players.

It is smart to keep the best cards, which, in this case, are commonly “5” cards, to prevent other players to finish up their cards before you.
