This is just one way to make apple crumble. Some recipes add oats in the crumble mix and some don't cook the apples before placing the pieces in the ovenproof dish.
What you need:
5 or 6 large cooking apples (bramley apples are best but any will do)
180g (6oz) granulated sugar
150g (5oz) flour
120g (4oz) butter or cooking margarine
What you do:
Preparing the apples:-
1. Peel the apples 2. Cut into quarters 3. Remove the cores
4. Slice into small chunks 5. Put into pan and add 60g of sugar 6. Cook until slighty soft
Preparing the crumble mixture:-
7. Put small pieces of butter into the flour 8. Rub in with fingers or mix with a fork
9. Add 120g sugar and stir
10. Spread apple into an ovenproof dish 11. Spread crumble mix over the apple
12. Cook at 180c/350F/Gas mark 5 for 30 minutes
